Mathew Hilakari

Mathew was elected to Parliament in late 2022, with a priority to deliver improvements to our roads, transport, education and health facilities and services. He has sought to use his role since then to use the power of Government to deliver.
Since being elected Labor is delivering and has delivered:
- Upgrades to Point Cook Road;
- New schools and buildings, including specialist school building and upgrades; and
- The new Point Cook Community Hospital and Emergency Department at Werribee.
Upgrades continue across our community including new cycling and walking bridges in Altona Meadows and Point Cook, constructing a new Police Station in Point Cook, completing the largest law courts outside the CBD, bringing elephants to Werribee Zoo, attracting hundreds of thousands of additional visitors to our community, amongst many projects.
Prior to entering Parliament, Mathew was a researcher and writer working for for-purpose organisations to progress policies that would improve Australia and outcomes for Australians, after working for State and Commonwealth Members of Parliament.
Mathew lives in the electorate with his family.
