Capping tolls at $30 a week

We’re cutting the cost of driving, with a $30 weekly toll cap to save families and small businesses thousands of dollars.
Labor’s toll cap could save drivers up to $5,000 per vehicle in 2027, covering CityLink, EastLink and the West Gate Tunnel.
Labor believes working people should be able to get ahead. But if you need to drive to work or travel between jobs, tolls quickly add up.
A re-elected Labor Government will introduce the cap from 1 January 2027, running throughout the year.
Cars, motorbikes and light commercial vehicles will be eligible, including utes and vans under 4.5 tonnes.
Rebates will be capped at $350 a week and $5,000 per vehicle over the year.
Small businesses will be able to claim rebates for up to five vehicles, helping keep the cost of getting between jobs down.
We’ll also change the law to allow electronic toll notices, removing the need for expensive paper administration fees when drivers forget their eTag.
Only Labor will deliver these savings, making everyday travel more affordable and helping working people keep more of what they earn.
