Only Labor Will Deliver Free Dental For Bendigo

27 October 2026

A re-elected Carroll Labor Government will open a free Public Dental Clinic in Bendigo.

Labor will invest $230 million to open 10 free clinics across Victoria.

Three will be in regional Victoria, focused on where there are gaps in services.

The clinic will help local Bendigo families get the care they need without worrying about the bill.

It’s help with the cost of living. It’s care closer to home.

Only Labor will deliver it.

Too many families can’t afford dental care

Medicare doesn’t cover dental.

Too many Victorians can’t afford to see a dentist – leaving them in pain, sending more people to hospital.

At least 30,000 Victorians a year raid their super just to pay for dental care.

Regional Victorians deserve better access to care. And they shouldn’t have to leave their community to get it.

Free dental care, close to home.

The Bendigo clinic will provide free check-ups and treatment for adults and children – including fillings, root canals and extractions.

No appointment will be required.

The most urgent cases will be treated first.

The clinic will open 9am–9pm on weekdays and 9am–5pm on weekends.

It builds on Labor’s Smile Squad, which has delivered free dental care for more than

175,000 children at school.

Only Labor fights for working families.

A Liberal–One Nation Coalition will cut $40 billion from health and frontline services –

and hurt the families who need them.

Quote attributable to Minister for Health Ingrid Stitt

“From check-ups to root canals, our Bendigo clinic will provide free treatment, with doors open into the evening and on weekends.”

“Only Labor will deliver free dental care for families. A Liberal–One Nation Coalition’s $40 billion cuts plan would put the care they need at risk.”

Quote attributable to Candidate for Bendigo West Brenton Baldwin

“Too many people put off going to the dentist because of the cost. Free check-ups will save locals money and help catch dental problems before they become emergencies”

Quote attributable to Candidate for Bendigo East Tim Rickwood

“No one should have to raid their super to get their teeth fixed. I’m proud to be part of the team fighting for free dental care right here in our community.”

Quote attributable to Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes

“You can’t trust Jess Wilson and One Nation when it comes to health – last time the Liberals were in government they closed 12 regional hospitals, abandoning regional Victorians.”
