Only Labor Will Deliver Free Dental Care For All Victorians
A re-elected Carroll Labor Government will deliver free dental care for all Victorians.
Labor will invest $230 million to open 10 free Public Dental Clinics across the state.
It’s structural cost-of-living support, it’s a national first – and only a Labor Government will deliver it.
Too many Victorians can’t afford dental care
Medicare doesn’t cover dental.
As a result, tens of thousands of Victorians can’t afford to go to a dentist – and so many of them are in pain, every single day.
The number of people unnecessarily going to hospital due to dental conditions and delayed care is rising.
And at least 30,000 Victorians a year raid their superannuation just to pay for dental work.
Free dental care for all Victorians
A re-elected Carroll Labor Government will open 10 free Public Dental Clinics across Victoria.
Seven clinics will be in Melbourne with three in regional Victoria, focused on where there are gaps in services.
They will work like Labor’s Medicare Urgent Care Clinics.
No appointment will be required for adults or children.
Patients at the clinics will receive free check-ups and treatment, delivered by dedicated oral care clinicians.
Clinicians will perform procedures like fillings, root canals and extractions.
They’ll deal with the most urgent cases first, including dental pain, swelling, or people who have had an accident.
The clinics will be open 9am-9pm on weekdays and 9am-5pm on weekends.
When up and running, the clinics will see more than 100,000 Victorians a year.
And 10 free Public Dental Clinics are only the beginning.
Labor established Smile Squad
Smile Squad delivers free dental care for kids at school.
It has seen more than 175,000 students and helped countless families with the cost-of-living.
Only Labor fights for working people.
A One Nation-Liberal Coalition will cut $40 billion from health and frontline services – and hurt working families.
