Buses Every 10 Minutes in the West Under Labor

07 November 2026

Working people in Melbourne's west deserve public transport they can rely on.

That's why a re-elected Carroll Labor Government will invest $400 million to deliver turn-up-and-go buses across Melbourne's west.

A bus every 10 minutes on key routes – seven days a week.

That means you can get moving without planning your day around a bus timetable.

More buses for Melbourne's west

Melbourne's west is growing fast, and bus services need to keep up.

Labor will deliver more frequent buses connecting families to train stations, jobs, shops, schools and healthcare.

Under our plan, there will be:

• Buses every 10 mins on key routes from 6am to 10pm – seven days a week

• Buses every 20 mins from 5am to 6am and 10pm to 1am – seven days a week

New connections include:

• Werribee Station to Melbourne Airport

• Two routes between Werribee Station and Tarneit Station

• Two routes between Watergardens Station and Caroline Springs Station

• Harkness to Cobblebank Station

• Wyndham Vale Station to Laverton Station

• Hoppers Crossing Station to Laverton Station

• Williams Landing Station to Tarneit Station

• Hoppers Crossing Station to Tarneit Station

• Hoppers Crossing Station to Wyndham Vale

These buses will all connect with train stations.

No more planning your day around a timetable – just turn up and go.

This is a significant improvement on current services.

Under our plan, there will be four times as many services travelling from Tarneit Station to Williams Landing Station, or Hoppers Crossing Station to Laverton Station.

Instead of running every 40 minutes, they’ll run every 10 minutes.

We will double the services on routes such as Caroline Springs Station to Watergardens Station.

And for the first time, there will be a direct public bus connection from Werribee to Melbourne Airport.

More buses. Lower fares.

We're putting more buses on the road and capping public transport fares at $30 a week.

And we’re fixing local roads across the western suburbs.

The alternative is a Liberal-One Nation Coalition making $40 billion in cuts.

You can't cut $40 billion without cutting the services families in the west rely on.
