150 New Fire Trucks for the Frontline to Keep Us Safe

08 October 2026

A re-elected Carroll Labor Government will keep Victorians safe with 150 new fire trucks for the frontline.

Victoria has the best funded fire services, the fastest response times and the most firefighters in Australia.

But with hotter and longer fire seasons happening, we must deliver more.

It’s all about keeping Victorians safe.

150 new trucks for the frontline

Labor is already delivering a new truck to the CFA every four days, backed by a $140 million fleet program.

And FRV has 36 new vehicles in the pipeline, backed by a $50 million investment.

A re-elected Carroll Labor Government will go even further.

We will deliver 150 new fire trucks by 2030.

Labor’s $167 million investment means:

  • 50 new FRV trucks
  • 50 new CFA pumpers and pumper-tankers
  • 50 new CFA tankers

We’ll work with our fire agencies on where the trucks are needed most – every region will benefit.

A modern, locally manufactured fleet

Labor also commits that by 2035, no FRV truck is operating beyond its service life of 15 years.

And we’ll replace all single-cab CFA tankers – so no firefighters are riding on the back.

We’ll do it by manufacturing them right here in Victoria, like in Sunshine North and Ballarat.

That supports local jobs and boosts our economy.

It’s at risk under a Liberal-One Nation coalition

Labor has doubled investment in emergency services.

Every CFA region received new infrastructure funding in this year’s Budget.

But this is all at risk.

Jess Wilson’s Liberal-One Nation Coalition are promising $40 billion in cuts.

The fact is, you can’t cut $40 billion from the budget without cutting emergency services.
